Russian President Vladimir Putin said that at an exhibition of promising space industry projects, he was shown the first segment of the future Russian Orbital Station (ROS), which is expected to replace the ISS.
Putin said that authorities understand that without manned spaceflight, Russia will not be able to effectively develop projects in space. The goal, he said, is to ensure there are “no gaps” in the manned flight program and that as the ISS's resources are exhausted, new segments will replace them.
According to him, the first ROS segment should be launched into orbit as early as 2027
