Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as independent territories, the press service of the Kremlin reports.
The decrees have already been published on the Internet portal of legal information.
Please note that the recognition of the independence of these territories is a formal step necessary for their further entry into Russia. As for the DLR and LPR, Moscow recognized their independence as early as February 2022.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, previously stated that the agreements on the accession of Donetsk, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to The Russian Federation will be signed on September 30 at 15:00 Moscow time in the hall of St. George of the Great Kremlin Palace.
