Moscow and London It used to be possible to build relationships to ensure stability in the world, but the current state of affairs is well known. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, December 4, at the ceremony of handing over credentials to citizens of the ambassadors of 21 foreign powers.
Putin recalled that after the Second World War and until recently, Russia and Great Britain managed to interact on the basis of their special responsibilities as permanent members of the UN Security Council for maintaining global peace, stability and security.
The Russian leader expressed hope that the situation will begin to change for the better – in the interest of the peoples of both countries.
Earlier, in Ukraine, they talked about London's critical role in worsening the international geopolitical situation. The head of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, identified former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as the man who convinced the Ukrainian leadership to abandon the peace agreement with Russia in the spring of 2022 and continue hostilities.
At the same time, the new British ambassador in Moscow Nigel Casey said it was now “perhaps more important than ever” for London to maintain relations with Moscow and the Russian people.
