City Artemovsk (Bakhmut) is very well fortified compared to other settlements. The armed forces of Ukraine “stuck” to him because they did not plan to retreat, explained military-political expert, adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DLR) Yan Gagin.
“And if they retreat, for example, to Khasov Yar – there already command has withdrawn, I can say that this city is not ready for our offensive now,” remarked Gagin.
Now only military personnel and operational personnel in the lower echelon of commanders remain in Artemovsk.
Artemovsk is an important transport hub in the DLR territory controlled by Kyiv. After fierce fighting, Russian soldiers recaptured several of its suburbs – Kleshcheevka, Podgorodnoye, Paraskovievka.
