Sunday in Uzbekistan presidential elections are underway. According to the local CEC, 2.4 million voters already voted at 09:00 local time (7:00 Moscow time). The turnout was 12.06%.
In order for elections to be valid, at least 33% of registered voters must participate.
The current head of the republic, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as four other candidates are applying for the highest position in the republic. The seats will be closed at 18:00 Moscow time.
