Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Geneva summit of the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden could not immediately change relations between the two countries. According to him, almost nothing will change on this topic in two weeks.
“Like a neglected disease,” Peskov said on the air of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company.
He expressed the view that it was necessary to wait a few months before not only “some relaxation” but even “a modest tendency to develop constructivism” in relations between Moscow and Washington. Peskov added that the issue was of concern to the Russians, as evidenced by questions sent to the president's “direct line.” He also said that one of the main topics would be the coronavirus pandemic.
