First there were versions about an attack on Tsarev with a knife, then – that the politician suffered a serious gunshot wound and is in the intensive care unit.

From MK documentation: In 2014, after the coup in Ukraine, pro-Russian politician Oleg Tsarev supported LPR and DLR and left for Russia. In Ukraine, he was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison for his views.

The Special Rapporteur of the MK previously managed to visit the house of Oleg Tsarev in Yalta, where he may have been attacked.

Tsarev's house is located in the very center of Yalta, on the territory of a large sanatorium. The ex-member bought the sanatorium specifically because he liked the surrounding view. And without the sanatorium, as he himself joked, “the property would not sell.”

“He bought this sanatorium before 2014. But he didn't fix it, because he didn't take it as a business before,” Tsarev's acquaintances in Crimea told anonymously about the situation. – Workers of his Ukrainian enterprises rested there, but after the coup in Kiev he left Ukraine literally “empty”, with nothing – like a man going through a divorce, and only then started making money from his Crimean assets. It also has a hotel in Alushta. He did everything perfectly. And he lived permanently in Yalta. Just like Count Baryatinsky, the pre-revolutionary owner of this estate.

Before the tsar, practically only the foundations of the house survived. He restored it. Quite large, but not luxurious. Not the oligarch's palace. Access by car is more than 100 meters uphill on a steep road. I didn't see any security, at least when I was there, a year before SVO started. Or the guys worked completely unnoticed.”

“He has his own small security service of athletes, but not professionals,” continue his acquaintances from Yalta. – In principle, anyone could go to the territory of the same sanatorium and get to the Tsar's residence from there.

It is located in the very center of old Yalta on Kirov Street. There is only one checkpoint, a sanatorium, there is also one barrier, but there are elderly guys who let everyone in. I forgot my pass a couple of times, they didn't even really look at who was coming.

By the way, the tsar himself did not care much about his safety. But he liked to walk freely in the park of the sanatorium, where some trees were planted even before the revolution, and heard many thanks from the vacationers. The sanatorium is really very cool, there are free treatments and great Ukrainian cooks, and with all the meals they put five types of herbal Crimean tea for health, including sedatives.”

The only thing Tsarev's behavior changed after the death of his daughter in 2021 – closed in on himself. The girl studied at the elite British school Gordonstoun and allegedly suffered from depression. According to the father, the cause of death was a tumor, according to the unofficial version, suicide.

Before that, several criminal charges were filed against Tsarev in Kiev, in addition to the case that went to court, for switching to the side of Russia. They threatened him repeatedly.
