The source announced the death of the head of the Laboratory of Quantum Optical Technologies at Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Dmitry Kolker. On Thursday, he was arrested in a case of treason.
Earlier, the scientist's son Maxim said that Kolker was detained by the FSB while he was being treated in hospital. And daughter Alina Mironova noted that her father was diagnosed with the fourth stage of cancer.
The university, in turn, noted that Kolker was a well-known specialist in the field of laser physics and quantum electronics. His laboratory was involved in “the development of new radiation sources for medical, environmental and special applications”. At the same time, NSU claims that the laboratory did not engage in research within a closed topic.
