According to Reuters, the National Muslim Democratic Council demanded that US President Joe Biden “use his influence with Israel” to secure a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip by 5:00 p.m. ET.
At the same time, the Council warned early that it would ask millions of Muslim voters to reject donations and votes for Biden in the upcoming presidential election unless immediate steps are taken to secure a truce.
The council also blamed Biden for his recall. is that his administration's unconditional support for Israel has played a significant role “in perpetuating violence resulting in civilian casualties.” The document says it undermines voter confidence.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said earlier on Tuesday that the United States stands with Israel on the need to continue fighting in the Gaza Strip.
