In press service The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was informed that the Russian army broke through the echelon defense of Ukrainian troops on the territory of the LPR.
It is specified that during the offensive of motorized riflemen from the Central Military District, Ukrainian formations accidentally retreated several kilometers from the lines that had previously occupied.

“It happened in a forested area of the Luhansk People's Republic. As a result of the offensive, the armed forces of Ukraine retreated to a distance of up to three kilometers from the previously occupied lines,” the Ministry noted.
The Ministry of Defense added that the breakthrough of the Russian army could not be stopped by the more fortified second line of enemy defense. Ukrainian armed forces hastily abandoned their positions, leaving dead bodies and military equipment behind.
