Military expert Viktor Baranets revealed what the fall of Avdiivka would mean for the Ukrainian army.
He drew attention to the fact that Avdiivka was the strongest fortified point of the Ukrainian armed forces, which was even more fortified than Azovstal. Therefore, Russian troops there used artillery, rocket systems and huge five-ton bombs. At the same time, Baranets called to wait for the official statement that Avdiivka is completely under Russian control.
In an interview with News.ru, the expert emphasized that the liberation of the industrial zone is a very significant step, because now Russian troops can head to the administrative border of the Donetsk region.
Baranets added that the loss of Avdiivka would be “a powerful moral blow for both the authorities and the army of Ukraine.” He expressed his belief that this will be reflected in the further course of the SVO.
