Vedomosti writes that deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation who were on business trips in the special traffic zone were not allowed to submit income tax returns this year.

The publication states that it received information about this from one of the deputies who visited the NVO, and that this information was confirmed by the deputy Viktor Vodolatskij, head of the United Russia humanitarian mission in the LPR. This information was confirmed to the editors by two other deputies, referring to the presidential decree of December 29, 2022, according to which people participating in combat operations or sent to new territories of the Russian Federation are exempted from providing information about their income.

In at the same time, another Vedomosti participant stated that he had not received any special order on this topic from the apparatus of the lower house of the parliament or its leadership.

The publication also quotes the words of another deputy, “who arranged a business trip to the special operations zone in the State Duma and has been there for a long time.” He told reporters he hadn't considered filling out the statement yet because “nothing has changed since 2021.”

“There's just no time to fill it out, I'm busy with other things,” the quote quoted him as saying.
