American journalist Seymour Hersh, the author of the investigation into Washington's involvement in the Nord Stream explosions, believes that the United States and Europe are facing serious consequences because of what happened. He said this in an interview with the Democracy Now program.
According to him, the incident showed Europe that it can become completely dependent on America. It could undermine NATO. Europeans have to spend a lot more money on electricity and heating.
For the U.S., the political consequences of what happened will be “colossal,” he said.
“The political consequences for us [for the U.S. ] we will see in the long term – until the potential withdrawal of some countries from NATO, because Biden is not afraid to keep them in the cold, it is more important for him to continue with the military a conflict in which he will not win. I'm just amazed,” said Hersh.
Recall that on September 26, Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 were sabotaged. The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has opened proceedings in the matter of international terrorism.
