This opinion was expressed by former Pentagon analyst Barry Posen in an interview with Foreign Policy. The expert believes that the West underestimates the Russian army.
In particular, according to Posen, forecasts of the success of the armed forces of Ukraine are based on the fact that Russia has run out of reserves. However, this is most likely not true. This means that the attacks of the armed forces of Ukraine are pointless, because the troops will face such a counterattack that will only worsen the position of Ukraine on the front.
