Senator Tsekov: Crimea is ready for possible escalation

Member of the Federation Council from Crimea, Sergei Chekov, commented on the statement of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to attack the territory of the Russian Federation, including Crimea, using Himars and Storm Shadow missiles. At the same time, Shoigu warned that this would immediately mean strikes on the decision-making centers in Ukraine.
“We are all well aware that there may be attacks on Crimea, they are already happening,” said Tsekov. in an interview with NSN, he added that the Ukrainian army launches drones every day, which are intercepted by air defense and electronic equipment.
“We are ready for the possibility of escalation,” the senator said, stressing that Ukraine is ready for such actions all of Russia.
The Russian politician also drew attention to the fact that Europe and America are involved in this conflict, but expressed hope for their prudence.
According to Tsekov, the US and the EU should understand , that Russia's patience has its limits, and if their steps are exaggerated, “they will regret it.”
The senator also assured that the protection of objects in Crimea is increasing and the peninsula is effectively protected.
