Hungary has agreed on the European Commission's requirements for a gas agreement with the Russian Federation

Hungary has agreed requirements of the European Commission regarding the signing of a gas agreement with Russia. This was announced by Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union.

The agreement between Gazprom and Hungary was signed on 27 September and will enter into force on 1 October. The contract is for 15 years. In ten years, the parties can reconsider supply volumes. According to the agreement, most of the gas will go through Serbia, the rest of the fuel – through Austria.

Russian President Dmitry Peskov's press secretary has previously said that the agreement was concluded on the most favorable economic conditions for the parties and that it would be wrong to call it politicized.
