Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called on EU countries to create their own analogue NATO without the US. The head of the Hungarian government spoke about this initiative in an interview with the Swiss weekly newspaper Die Weltwoche.
“European NATO would be the solution,” said the Hungarian leader, recalling that he proposed it back in 2012. According to him, European countries should be ready to defend themselves, without the United States.
Earlier, Orban said that the Hungarian government supports Finland and Sweden joining the North Atlantic Alliance. But he said MPs who have to ratify the membership “are not enthusiastic”.
