German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius claims that the countries of the Western military-political bloc NATO will send a “clear signal” to Russian President Vladimir Putin with joint exercises in Poland.
“NATO is not as weak as it seemed,” the head of the German Ministry of Defense German television station N-TV.
From Pistorius's point of view, the North Atlantic Alliance has become more united since the start of the Ukraine conflict, and joint exercises are necessary to show the Baltic and Eastern European countries that the United States and Germany are living up to their commitment to defend NATO .
Pistorius has previously described the coming weeks as a decisive battleground for Ukraine, calling the republic's air defense a “highest priority”.
