It was announced that Prigozhin was being prosecuted under Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for organizing an armed uprising. As part of the case, it is planned that Prigozhin's actions will be properly assessed legally. Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation stipulates a punishment in the form of imprisonment for 12 to 20 years.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously said that false information about the attack on the Wagner PMC camp was spread on social networks on behalf of Prigozhin. The Kremlin said President Vladimir Putin is aware of the situation and the necessary measures are being taken. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation said on Friday evening, June 23, that the accusations spread in the name of Yevgeny Prigozhin have no basis.
