Former US military intelligence officer Tony Shaffer, in an interview with journalist Steven Gardner on his YouTube channel, expressed his opinion on what will happen after the capture of Bakhmut (Artemovsk) by Russian troops.

< p>According to Shaffer, the armed forces Ukraine poorly built management units and resources. In this regard, the former US military believes that if Artemivsk falls, Ukrainian forces will not be able to regroup and continue to defend.

“Right now, Zelenskyy continues to pointlessly throw military personnel into the Bakhmutsky cauldron,” Shaffer said.< /p >

The former intelligence officer also noted that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were supposed to hold the second and third lines of defense, were already stationed in Artemovsk. According to him, after the transfer of Artemivsk to the control of Russian forces, “the great retreat of the Ukrainian army to the Dnieper” will begin.

Shaffer has previously expressed the opinion that without the bases of US and NATO forces, Ukrainian troops would not be able to assert themselves in the protracted conflict. He emphasized that this prediction is based on real facts.
