EU Observer: Lithuania proposes to the EU to leave Russia without needles and knitting needles

Lithuania has proposed a ban on the export of buttons to Russia, needles, knitting needles, nails and heating radiators. This is how the Baltic countries see the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union. The proposals of the Lithuanian side were published by EUobserver.

According to media reports, Vilnius representatives on dozens of pages detailed recommendations for the “destruction” of Russian industrial capacities.

In the European Union itself, the position on such restrictions is ambiguous. One of the EU diplomats said that the international community wants to believe the fairy tales that the sanctions regime is harming Russia.

Earlier it was revealed that the consultation between EU member states on the 12th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Limiting the import of diamonds produced in Russia was also mentioned as one of the possible measures.

From January 1, 2024, they want to introduce a ban on unprocessed precious stones. Restrictions on the import of processed diamonds will be smoother.
