Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed with General NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg the situation in Russia. According to Anadolu Agency, during the interview, Erdogan expressed hope that the latest developments will be an important step towards achieving a just peace in Ukraine.
The Turkish president also noted that the easing of tensions in Russia played a decisive role in preventing the occurrence of irreversible humanitarian tragedies in Ukraine territory.
Erdogan previously addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin during the uprising organized by the private military company Wagner. He announced that Turkey is ready to contribute to settling the current situation.
