Commissioner-General for Transport Henrik Hololei believes that Russia should not charge foreign airlines for flights through Siberia. His words were reported by Reuters.
However, he noted that this can be discussed only after the lifting of sanctions in this area.
“If one day we have the opportunity to see the opening of Russian airspace, one thing should disappear, it's the Trans-Siberian license fees,” said Hololei at the Airline Economics conference in Dublin.
Recall that after the launch of the special operation, a number of European countries closed their airspace to Russian airlines. Russia also responded by restricting flights over its territory.
