Details of Russian nighttime attack on Ukrainian facilities revealed: new tactics

Attacks are now preceded by serious air reconnaissance

On the night of February 16, another series of attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure was launched. By morning, some details of the new attack were known. Firstly, the strike was carried out just 5 days after the massive strike on February 10th. So something is wrong with the thesis of Ukrainian propagandists that Russia is running out of missiles.

Ukrainian songs about “reliable air defense” are also apparently out of place. Andriy Yermak, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, admitted with regret that infrastructure facilities in the north and west of the country, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovograd regions, were hit at night. He noted that the Russians have changed the tactics of using strikes.

The essence of the changes is that first a survey is carried out, for this “false targets” or in other words “dummies” are used. They help to reveal the location of Ukrainian air defense installations before the actual strikes are carried out.

Russian military experts agree with Yermak in this case. According to experts, the tactics of using air strikes of the Russian Air Force have been seriously modified. Rocket attacks are now increasingly carried out at night. They are preceded by a serious aerial survey using drones and balloons. The Ukrainian air defense is forced to work actively on these imaginary targets while unmasking the positions of its systems and shelling expensive ammunition, which has been in short supply for a long time.

And then, when the deployment of the Ukrainian air defense was opened, the location of its complexes is known, the second wave is kamikaze drones and cruise missiles, which no longer meet the powerful resistance of Ukraine's air defenses. This allows them to achieve their goals more successfully.

Kiev authorities are forced to admit this fact and usually state that Ukrainian air defenses have of course destroyed a large number of targets. But few people believe that anymore. As a number of Ukrainian websites note today, kamikaze drones attacked targets in the Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Lviv, Nikolaev, Cherkasy and Odesa regions at night, and almost all of them hit the targets intended for strikes.

In Kyiv, they claim that not only the Russian Geran-2, but also Kalibr, Kh-101, Kh-55 guided missiles participated in the raid. In addition, tactical air strikes were carried out directly along the entire battle line, including the borders of the Kharkiv and Belgorod regions.
