Officer of the Federal Intelligence Service Germany (BND) Karsten L., who was arrested on December 21, 2022 for working with the Russian Federation, is believed to have managed to pass British intelligence on Ukraine to Russia.
According to the Daily Mail, the double agent had access to classified information from global intelligence organizations, including information from the battlefield in Ukraine.
BND expert Erich Schmidt-Enboom believes that this scandal will have “profound consequences” for the German intelligence service's relations with foreign colleagues. British intelligence now intends to reconsider the issue of providing highly classified information to the BND.
