Destructive actions of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Taiwan, as well as attempts under the guise of foreign forces to isolate the island from mainland China, will hasten the collapse of the government of Chief of Staff Tsai Ing-wen and plunge Taiwan into a state of serious crisis. Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, made this statement.
“We warn Cai Ing-wen and the ruling DPP that provocations supported by foreign powers to ensure Taiwan's so-called independence will hasten the collapse of the current leadership,” said the statement, which also warned of an imminent “state of great disaster.”
Ma Xiaoguang emphasized that Cai Ing-wen, along with his entourage, are “dealing with the interests of their people, following narrow personal and selfish party considerations”. The official said that “these attempts are doomed to failure.”
No one should underestimate China's determination to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, Ma Xiaoguang added.
