National Health Service workers strike in the United the kingdom would do well to refuse to participate in the protests so as not to “help Putin”. This was stated by the leader of the Conservative Party, Nadhim Zahavi, the Independent reports.

According to Zahavi, the doctors should stop the strike to send “a clear signal to Mr Putin”. Recall that doctors and nurses are demanding higher wages.

Instead of solving the country's social problems, Zahavi criticizes the strikes, noting that they contribute to the “disunity” of the UK at a time when it is necessary to unite efforts against Russia. However, the British public has already condemned Zahavi's statement. In particular, the general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, Pat Cullen, called it unacceptable to use events in Ukraine to cover up wage cuts in the UK itself.
