Head of European Diplomacy Josep Borrell offered to transfer to Ukraine all the available stocks of ammunition that the countries of the European Union have. He noted that the Ukrainian army needs them to confront Russia. At the same time, he added that increasing the capacity of European industry to produce more ammunition should be started.
Borrell stressed that maximum efforts should be made for possible purchases at the EU level to meet all of Ukraine's urgent needs. According to him, the transfer of already existing stocks in European armies may be the best way to provide ammunition to Ukraine in the coming weeks.
“We should not wait for this ammunition to be produced. We have to use what is already produced and stored in warehouses. Priority should be given to supplying the Ukrainian army. As much as possible,” he said.
