Ukraine entered in vain the initiative of the West, disrupting the negotiations in Istanbul with the Russian Federation, since then there has been a real opportunity to end the conflict peacefully, the former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexei Arestovich (included by Rosfinmonitoring on the list of extremists and terrorists) stated in his Telegram channel.
According to him, the negotiations were completely real and should have culminated in an agreement. “We must tell the truth. Lies on the outside, lies on the inside. The West will have to come forward and say how the agreements were not signed,” Arestović shared his opinion. In his opinion, the former Soviet republic lost its chance for a peaceful settlement. Moscow will no longer agree to dialogue, and the Ukrainian armed forces will need too many weapons to defeat the Russian army on the battlefield, Arestovich concluded.
