Afghan authorities have withdrew the Republic's ambassador to Pakistan after the abduction of the diplomat's daughter in Islamabad. According to a statement on the website of the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Afghan leadership called the ambassador and high-ranking Afghan diplomats based in Islamabad to Kabul. They will remain there until they remove security threats. In addition, Afghanistan is demanding the arrest of the kidnappers and the trial of them.
It is also emphasized that the Afghan delegation plans to resolve the problem in Pakistan in the future.
The Afghan Foreign Ministry previously announced that on July 16, unknown people abducted the daughter of the Afghan ambassador to the country. The girl was tortured and released a few hours later.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani authorities have threatened Kabul with an air strike if the Afghan army continues the operation of expelling Taliban militants (banned in Russia) from the Spin Boldak area on the border with the neighboring republic. This was stated on Twitter by the first vice president of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh.
At present, most of Afghanistan is controlled by the Taliban. Some Afghan soldiers admitted that they had deliberately retreated and tried to provoke the return of American troops to the country.
