Leader of the opposition in Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya expects to meet with US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his trip to Washington. However, they cannot be confirmed with certainty.
Previously, the US Department of Transportation eventually banned the sale of tickets for flights to and from Belarus. The ban is linked to an incident with a Ryanair plane that was forced to land in Minsk on May 23.
The sale of all tickets for passengers from the United States to Belarus, including transfers, is now prohibited. Exceptions are possible only in the interest of US national security.
