The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, said that Ukraine can join the Western military-political bloc of NATO only after it defeats the Russian Federation on the battlefield. The head of the US military department emphasized that Moscow will do everything to make such a scenario fail. The possibility of supplying the Ukrainian side with American F-16 fighters was discussed at the meeting of the Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base.
Military expert, retired colonel Yuriy Knutov, in an interview with Cargrad, expressed the opinion that the Ukrainian Air Force will receive only outdated versions airplane. In addition, from the point of view of the publication's partner, technical personnel from countries where these aircraft are already in use will have to be sent to Ukraine to service the F-16, which will be considered an intervention of the North Atlantic Alliance in the conflict.
Knutov also assessed the situation at airports where US-made aircraft may be located and stated that the Russian Federation is ready to destroy any disguise and strike at bases, even if it is NATO territory, including Romania and Poland.
