Michail Matveev, Deputy Head of the Duma Committee for regional policy stated that next week a draft law on revoking acquired Russian citizenship in the event of non-registration of the Russian Federation will be submitted to the lower house of parliament for consideration.

At the beginning of August, the deputy announced that he intends to prepare a law within the statutory deadline, according to which to register for military service. In case of non-fulfilment of such a requirement, the situation will end with “expulsion to the country from where such a non-citizen arrived,” Matveev said. He also said that “in this case, the migrant's family members should also be stripped of their citizenship.”

“The bill <…> is ready and will be submitted to the State Duma next week,” the deputy announced on August 26.
