Former Presidential Candidate Belarus During talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya called on Washington to increase pressure on Minsk politically and economically. She also touched on Russia's role in the events in Belarus.
According to the press service, the opposition asked during the meeting to “give a signal to Russia”; that the agreements signed with the current Belarusian regime will “ not be legally recognized and will be revoked“. She also noted that Moscow can play a “constructive role in resolving the crisis in Belarus” if it engages in mediation.
It is suggested that the meeting between Tikhanovskaya and Blinken lasted about an hour. The minister assured the guest that he was in constant contact with President Joe Biden and that they were “discussing the Belarus issue.”
