US Embassy in Kiev believes that Russia is obliged to withdraw its weapons and military forces and return Ukraine's full control over internationally recognized borders. As stated on the diplomatic mission's Facebook page, Moscow must also fully fulfill its commitments, in particular & nbsp; enable the OSCE to monitor the Ukrainian-Russian border and release illegal detainees.
The message appeared on the anniversary of the signing of the Minsk Protocol. The diplomatic mission added that the Russian Federation should take responsibility for ending the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Alexander Gushchin, an expert from the Russian Council on International Affairs (RIAC), said earlier that the United States would support Ukraine, but that it would remain limited financially. According to him, the White House intends to reach a certain level of dialogue with the Kremlin.
Gushchin also said that Ukraine's accession to NATO could not be expected because the states and their partners do not intend to create a new focus of tension in Russian relations.
