United States Embassy in Moscow from the beginning of August, it will not be able to provide consular services due to the requirement to stop the recruitment of workers from Russia and third countries. US Ambassador to the Russian Federation John Sullivan said this in an interview with the TV channel Dozhd.

“After August 1, very few people will work here, so we will not be able to provide consular services. I know that both Americans and Russians are in need,” he said.

According to him, the inclusion of the USA on the Russian list of enemy countries, as a result of which the USA lost the ability to accept Russian citizens and third-country nationals for diplomatic missions, “strongly influenced” the work of the American diplomatic mission.

“And we are practically unable to process at least some visa applications … We will work seriously with our colleagues, my friends at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to find a solution to this situation and lay the foundations for our diplomatic presence in Russia, and, hopefully, over time, to re-establish diplomatic missions that we did not have so many years ago, “Sullivan added
