A new administrator from the canonical UOC was appointed in the Khmelnytskyi diocese. They became the former Vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis Viktor. This decision was made by the synod of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
Previously, followers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) seized Khmelnytskyi Cathedral. The Holy Synod released Metropolitan Antonín Khmelnytskyi and Starokonstantinovsky from the administration of the Khmelnytskyi Diocese. His Grace Archbishop Viktor of Baryshevsky was appointed in his place.
In recent weeks, a scandal has flared up in Ukraine due to the discrimination of clerics and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the Kyiv regime, which the country's authorities accuse of having close ties with Russia.
