The Hill published material on the confrontation between the United States and Russia in the Black Sea, in which US Navy officer Brian Harrington expresses his vision of the situation. Among other things, the author of the column states that Russia can be deprived of its dominance in the Black Sea region by conducting exercises circumventing the Montreux Convention.
According to him, NATO countries should conduct maneuvers using high-tech weapons. Meanwhile, Harrington writes, the Bastion and Caliber missiles allow the Russian Federation to use the same tactics here as the PRC in the South China Sea – A2AD: restricting and banning access and maneuvering.
The author of the article also noted that the escort of NATO warships in the Black Sea by the Russian navy and aviation has become routine.
