The United States has filed 11 charges against Ukrainians in the case of cyber blackmail

The U.S. Department of Justice filed the 11th indictment of a 22-year-old Ukrainian citizen Yaroslav Vasinsky in the event of the creation of malware for the hacker group REvil with the aim of cyber blackmail from American companies.

According to the US authorities, the Sodinokibi software, when activated, gained access to the victims' computers without authorization through phishing, remote access and exploitation of vulnerabilities.

The US demands that Poland, where Vasinsky was previously detained, release him. At the same time, the US Treasury Department included Yevgeny Polyanin, a Ukrainian and a citizen of the Russian Federation on the sanctions list. Both are accused of linking with REvil, which is considered the organizer of a cyber attack on the American company Kaseya last summer.
