The UN General Assembly adopted an anti-Russian resolution not recognizing the referendum

General Member States The UN Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a resolution not to recognize the referendums on the annexation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to the Russian Federation.

143 states voted for it. anti-Russian document, 5 against, 35 abstentions.< /p>

Please note that Russia, Belarus, Nicaragua, North Korea and Syria opposed the resolution.

China, India, Pakistan, South Africa and most CIS countries abstained from voting.

< p>"The UN General Assembly does not recognize the referendums in the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine. We call on all countries, international organizations and specialized UN structures not to recognize the changes in the status of these regions,” the adopted document reads.
