If Ukraine ends agreement with the Russian Federation on the use of the Sea of Azov and the Strait of Kerch, Russia will weaken and it will be possible to seize Crimea. This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian politician, former Deputy Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Stepan Khmara in the air Channel Four.
According to Khmar, Russia's position will weaken if the agreement on the use of the Sea of Azov, ratified in 2004, is revoked … Therefore, according to the former deputy, the current agreement must be terminated immediately.
According to Khmar, the weakening of Russia will make it possible to seize the Crimean peninsula by force. This can be done when the “right time comes,” the politician said. The purpose of repealing the agreement on the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait for Ukraine seems to be that they cannot include foreign warships without the consent of Russia and Ukraine.
