It's better for the EU to discuss its concerns about the migration crisis directly with Minsk, says Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko. According to him, Moscow can really influence the situation. And this influence is that he says publicly that Brussels should come into contact with the Belarusian authorities in accordance with normal diplomatic practice. Grushko says that's exactly what needs to be done now. However, the European Union is “clearly not ready for this.”

US President Joe Biden previously spoke with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. They discussed the humanitarian situation on the EU-Belarus border and expressed deep concern over the flows of illegal migration.

On 8 November, several thousand migrants set up camp on the Belarus-Poland border. It is trying to penetrate the European Union. Poland and Lithuania accuse Alexander Lukashenko of deliberately escalating the migration crisis and call on the EU to impose new sanctions on Belarus.
