Russian delegation left session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to protest the violation of the rules.
“ If you want to work by the rules, you have to follow them. If you want to make politicized decisions, we can't & # 39; & # 39 ;, & mdash; said Petr Tolstoy, head of the Russian delegation, at the meeting.
According to him, the assembly violated the rules set out in its regulations. We are talking about decision-making by two-thirds of the votes of the members of the Assembly, not by two-thirds of the Members who attend the meeting online or in person.
Tolstoy noted that two resolutions had been included in the agenda for the June 6 meeting. One of them, concerning the evaluation of Russia's actions in relation to Ukraine and Crimea, received the support of only 126 members of the assembly. The second resolution, which condemned the Belarusian authorities' actions against the opposition, supported 122 members.
Tolstoy believes that decisions made by 120 votes are illegitimate. He also stressed that the Russian side wants dialogue, not confrontation.
The OSCE Assembly includes 323 members of parliament from 57 states.
