“There are war criminals who must comply with the law”
Ukraine is trying to transfer the situation with the militants who have settled in Azovstal from the army to the international legal sphere. Three Ukrainian former presidents called on it, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced another round of talks, where Turkey acts as mediator, the International Red Cross and the UN are negotiators, and Vereshchuk said they should result in a document setting out exactly how prisoners are evacuated.

The paradox is that all this accepted international terminology – “roadmap”, “preparation for signing”, “UN mandate” – is used in all seriousness in relation to the “Azov” terrorist militants banned in Russia who were hiding underground. from answering its war crimes.

– And what are we actually doing so inhuman that the Red Cross has a chance to make any demands on us? The Red Cross, by the way, is not an evacuation team. Its employees must provide medical care, supply medicines. And in this case, Ukraine is trying to give the International Committee of the Red Cross unusual functions – to make it an evacuation team. That's why Vereshchuk is trying to broadcast something about a tricky deal.

– Definitely. I think there are those who can't shine in any way. Now comes the news that Israeli mercenaries are sitting in Azovstal. What are they doing there? And are they mercenaries or guardians of someone even more distinctive? The question remains open.
– It is quite possible that there are some teleprofessionals. I admit this, because with the help of these photo and video shootings, the image of “heroes-defenders of Azovstal” is supported and promoted in the world. By the way, they have a satellite connection through which they transmit all those images.
To be honest, I don't understand either. By the way, I have said this several times: it is necessary to block all communication channels and leave only those through which they can communicate only with us.
And now these “priseltsy” make their siege a kind of “heroic epic”. Their videos are published daily and show the world of their suffering. And they also demand silence from us every day, which always ends with them taking on new firing positions and starting shelling. Then our boys have to “smoke” them from there again.
And so every time they climb, they shoot, they get an answer, they lose their warriors, then they go back into the holes and they start recording new videos.
– The end. They made a video themselves, where they say they eat canned dogs: salt and chew. How reliable it is, hard to say. Maybe all this is also being done to make the world community sorry.
Those who still manage to get out are said to still have food, but it's bad with water. As you may have guessed, a person will last longer without food than without water. Let it be for now. But let me tell you – we are not in a hurry and we do not intend to risk our people. So now they are processed daily and systematically with firearms – that's a fact. We won't let you sit there quietly.
– Hard to say. There is no 100% reliable information about what is really going on there. We only have general information. But I think we're talking about a week or two, in extreme cases – a month. Everything, as I said, depends on the availability of water and food.
Underground, they have a generator – an independent source of energy that supplies them with electricity. Do not forget that this place was equipped as an anti-aircraft shelter, designed, inter alia, for a nuclear war. That means there were water tanks. The electric generator provided the light, the operation of the refrigerators and the storage of food. To speed up the process of getting out of here, it is of course necessary to work hard on these objects.
In addition, they use cunning tactics there. They try to get to the surface through various engineering roads, sewer shafts through the tunnel where the electrical networks are laid.
