According to a report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ( NOAA), there have been 18 natural disasters in the country since the beginning of 2021, according to the Axios portal.
It is noted that the damage from each of these natural disasters exceeds $ 1 billion. Among them are four tropical cyclones, two floods, one wave of heat and drought, one natural fire and one wave of frost and snow.
At the same time, Hurricane Ida caused the most damage to the United States. More than $ 60 billion has already been spent on rebuilding the infrastructure after it.
In addition, 538 people fell victim to weather and climate disasters in the United States.
