The last surviving prosecutor of the Nuremberg trials, Benjamin Ferenc, died at the age of 104. This was reported by the American television channel NBC with reference to the son of the deceased.

At the time the trial began, Ferenc was only 27 years old. According to the channel, Ferenc and his team managed to collect thousands of documents in the camps and other locations in Berlin. Among them are reports on the actions of the Einsatzgruppen, the special forces of the SS. During World War II, these special forces exterminated about a million people in Europe. The found papers were used in court as proof of the guilt of the German military leaders. As a result, 14 people were sentenced to death. But in the end, only four of them were executed.

Benjamin Ferenc played an important role on the international stage after the end of the Nuremberg trials. He was put in charge of returning property confiscated by the Nazis to their owners. In addition, Ferenc participated in the conclusion of an agreement on compensation for the victims of the Holocaust by the government of West Germany.
