Russian President's spokeswoman Dmitry Peskov explained, why each federal prime minister was assigned a federal district. According to him, they will only supervise economic aspects. There is no talk of replacing presidential ambassadors, a Kremlin spokesman said.
“This is a separation of functions. The government speaks purely about the economy, the implementation of economic development plans, while the plenipotentiaries ensure the overall coordination of the work of other bodies, “Peskov emphasized.
He noted that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin had informed Putin in advance of plans to appoint prime ministers to the prime ministers.
It was previously known that the Prime Minister assigned a federal district to each deputy prime minister. Siberia will be supervised by Victoria Abramchenko, Urals – Yuri Borisov, Northwestern District – Tatyana Golikova, Central Federal District – Dmitry Grigorenko, Northern Caucasus – Alexander Novak, Far East – Yuri Trutnev, Southern Federal District – Marat Khusnullin and Volga Region – Dmitry Chernychenko.
