Press Secretary President RF Dmitry Peskov commented on an article by journalist Ivan Safronov about work to investigate espionage cases. He said the Kremlin “cannot respond”. Asked if the president had read the content of the article, Peskov said he did not know if he had time.
At the same time, Peskov previously said that Safronov's publication was included in the press review for Kremlin employees. However, the authorities did not respond to the article.
Safronov's article “Make Spies From These People” was published last week on the Knowledge website. Later, the publication disappeared and the site itself was attacked by DDoS.
In his article, Safronov said that in espionage cases, investigators usually collect at least 5-7 volumes of the case. At the same time, the court satisfies 100% of the investigator's requests and sends the intimidated defendants to the investigation center. According to the journalist, at the same time, suspects are often deprived of the opportunity to defend themselves.
