Rossotrudynichestvo Primakov he said that his department completely stopped cooperating with the Ministry of Information of Kazakhstan and its new minister – Russophobe Askar Umarov. Primakov wrote about it in his telegram channel.

“Mr Umarov's appointment is clearly an example of the toughest conscious compromises that the President of [Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev] must make. I believe that such carefully thought-out and planned compromises will not be able to destroy the age-old fraternal friendship between our nations, especially if Mr. Umarov publicly renounces his Nazi and chauvinist views on the Russians in Kazakhstan, “Primakov wrote. He also said that Rossotrudničestvo “does not maintain contacts, does not work and does not cooperate with Russophobic crap.” For this reason, any interaction with Minister Umarov and the ministry headed by him will be completely prevented.

Umarov's appointment was known the day before. He is considered an ardent nationalist and Russophobe. He spoke offensively about the celebration of the “incomprehensible Victory Day” in Russia. He also called nationalism the most effective idea. Umarov also called the Russians a “forced diaspora” in Kazakhstan. He was said to be providing active support to Kazakh nationalists.
