The FBI informant was among those who attacked the Washington Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.
On the day of the attack, he met with radicals from the far-right Proud Boys at the Washington Memorial and then followed. The informant saw the crowd tear down the barriers and enter the Capitol. He told his curator about it, writes the New York Times.
It is noted that the curator did not understand the informant, he simply asked the nurse to report the acts of violence. As a result, the informant got inside the Capitol building, but soon got out the window.
The person has worked with the FBI since July 2020, being close to some members of the radical movement. It is unclear whether the whistleblower knew of the Proud Boys' plans to attack the building. However, lawyers claim that the radicals did not draw up a plan of attack.
